My wife and I first visited the island of Hydra in 2014 and since then we have been spending as much time there as possible. Several years ago we decided that merely visiting was not enough so we endeavored to purchase a house there.
Friends had told us that purchasing property in Greece could be complicated but we were undeterred. We met with a couple of real estate agents to explore how this could go. We were less than charmed.
Thankfully, we were introduced to Popi through some local friends. We were immediately taken with her knowledge of the local market, what was available and, most impressively, the resources she had at hand.
Without going into too much detail, our first venture into pursuing a house in Hydra was a genuine challenge. The seller was well known to Popi and she explained that he might be difficult. Wrong. He was impossible. But Popi had a way of maneuvering which brought this endeavor to a satisfying end.
Just to put into perspective how effective Popi is, she not only wrestled the obstinate seller into closing the deal for a fair price, she also aided us with the purchase and delivery of an entire house of furniture, she secured storage space for furniture which arrived early, lined us up with contractors who preformed beautifully and she secured the services of the best attorney we could ever have hoped for (you do need a lawyer for a Greek real estate purchase but it is surprisingly reasonable).
So, without reservation, we highly recommend Popi over any of the other agents on the island. We are more than happy to answer any question for anyone considering Popi’s services.
